LIRR/MTA question
Normally I take mass transit wherever I go. I'm very comfortable with LIRR and MTA. Whenever and wherever we roam I generally travel mass transit (San Fran, Chicago, NYC) but NYC is still 'home' to me.
That said, I've been following the posts and it seems ugly out there lately.
But now I wonder if I should just get a car.
I don't mind driving. I generally do when I go because I visit Jersey, Queens and other parts of Long Island but this time I was staying just to Brooklyn and Westbury. Short trip and only seeing the city on Thursday and Saturday. Then again AC does sound nice.......
Westbury to Brooklyn is SUCH a long drive!!! Sheepshead Bay.. ugh
Thoughts?
Thursday arrive JFK morning
Planned trip in the city that afternoon
Night in Brooklyn
Friday in Westbury
Saturday back to Brooklyn with a trip to the city to see the museum
Back to JFK Sunday to fly home mid morning
(Timeframe: Mid July)

You'll be fine. The complaints are for rush hour. Traffic is 10000000% worse

Agree. I would still chose the nightmare that is the LIRR over the traffic and driving any day.
One of my engineers had to go to a meeting in Brooklyn 2 weeks ago and it took him almost 3 hours to get from Brooklyn back to Hauppauge at around 3 pm.
