VHS to DVD/digital file
Can you recommend a place to do this? Preferably in Nassau? Or is there somewhere to send away to do it?

I used Legacy Box recently to do this - its a service that you sign up for, they send you a box, you fill it with whatever you want transferred digitally (photos, music, vhs, anything) and they do it, and send the originals and digital files back to you
it was super easy, and pretty reasonable too
