anyone know the avg cost of glasses, just the lens
if you dont have insurance, this would include the anti glare for distance glasses and for sunglasses polarized.
2 types, one reg glasses and one sunglasses. I know polarized cant be costly
how much can a pair of reg not fancy frames cost?

You can get a pair for $99 from Warby Parker. I've had my pair for several years with no issues. I had to pay a little extra to get the lenses thinned.

really, these are not sun glasses your talking about?
it cost me an additional $250 for sun, fortint/ polarized
Im trying to decide it I should pay for additional coverage for eyes. I need 2 pair, reg and sun with scripts.
I was just told it will still cost me $250 for the polarized part of the lens etc.

Definitely check Warby Parker. They started the company because they realized glasses didn't need to be expensive.
You can order in store or online. My mom has done both and was happy both times.

My lenses cost $800. I have a THICK prescription so I have to pay for the better thin lenses. They are tri focals and I have the fancy coating on them.

I agree with Warby. I just got two pairs from them recently b/c i was tired of paying over $500 each time. I get so many compliments on them and they cost me, I think $125 each (thinned lenses).

It appears as though the sunglasses are more expensive than $99, but they are still cheaper than $200.

I buy my glasses from 39dollarglasses.com. They have many options and are cheap! I only get the $39 pair because I only wear them when my contacts aren't in. LOVE them! They are in Hauppauge, so they come in like 2 days

I buy high-index lenses, so mine cost a lot. I think the lenses are around $300, but I keep the same pair of glasses for years.

You pick a few pairs off their site and then send them to you to try on. Once you pick a pair they make the glasses. Or you can go to a store.

Do they make glasses using real glass? That seems like it would be heavy and very easy to break

You pick ones you like and they will send you up to 5 to try on. Keep them for a week and send them back. Upload your script or they will call your dr for it. Very easy.

My regular glasses (frames, lenses, progressive, anti-scratch coating, transitions) with insurance were $295. My prescription sun glass lenses at Lens Crafters for my Oakley frames were $400 after an insurance discount of $90 (because they were second pair of glasses). They are anti-glare, polarized, progressive lenses. The frames were a separate charge.
