Pet Peeve of the Day! Overplayed songs
If I hear Ed Sheeran's The Shape of You one more time I'm going to lose my mind.
I used to like that song. I really liked it. And then the radio stations killed it. Destroyed it. By playing it eleventy billion times a day
I was just on a semi long drive thru line and I heard it once (some unplugged version) and within less than 15 minutes I was pulling back into my office lot and the SAME STATION played it again.
It must play 100 times a day on various stations. Non stop. I'm only in the car about half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon and I bounce around stations at that, and I STILL here it constantly.
It's a shame how they ruin a song. Give it a rest, it will last longer.

It's not just that song- we drive to and from LI so we're in the car about 1.5- 2 hours each day. And I hear The Shape of You, Something Like This, and Despacito about 6x each, no exaggeration. I feel like I'm losing my damn mind. Between that and the DUMB conversations they have in the morning and the fake phone taps (seriously, we all know they're fake, who is enjoying these any more?!), we wind up listening to sports radio... and I enjoy it more!

Yes, in my 10 min drive to drop my son off, I heard the song 3 times no lie. And he wanted to hear it all 3 times
Despacito was my fave song for a hot 5 seconds before it became overkill.

Every song gets played out. That's why I can't listen to a radio station during work. I'd hear the same songs over and over.
It's so annoying. There are so many good songs over the years, they can play some older songs too rather than the same song over and over.

Granted one or two of the stations on my Sirius line up are terrestrial stations- somehow they are on Sirius now?
Z100 and some LA station that Ryan Seacrest hosts a show on

We have only shitt-y radio stations in NYC. It's pathetic and it's been like that for years.
We just stream Pandora when we drive somewhere.

I find this happening even on Sirius, but not as bad as terrestrial. Really annoying.
That is why more and more I've been defaulting to talk radio (Jason Ellis/Jim and Sam/Howard Stern
Some times its so bad I've even listened to Dr Laura.

Oh. I don't listen to the pop stations. Mostly 80s and classic rock or news for me.

OMG - Me too!!!
I drove back from Virginia last month and I think I heard it 100x on my 10 hr drive (I hit traffic and didn't have Sirius).
Now every time I hear that song I want to cringe. And I don't really listen to pop music that often - I listen to country.
ETA - When I was in high school, someone came in to talk to us from a radio station - they say stations that play new hits usually recycle songs every 2 hrs because people who listen don't listen for that long. As opposed to classic rock stations - where people would listen all day (this was 25 or so years ago, pre Siruis)
