raffle basket theme ideas

I have volunteered to put together a basket for my son's team to raffle off at the end of the year event.

So far,I have collected about 70 dollar but I need to think up a theme.

I was thinking something like summer fun- beach towels, a small cooler, some water toys/sprayers, maybe one of those fan misting things but my DH thought a lot of people will put together a basket like that and there may wind up being numerous at the event.

Any unique ideas?

What type of team? I'm guessing sports. Something team and/or sport related is usually good. Tickets to a Ducks/Yankees/Mets/Islanders/Jets game, autographed ball from a sports shop, etc.

Keep it summer-themed but make it outdoor movie night themed? Stuff to make smores, popcorn, movie theater-sized candy, cotton candy, blanket, glow sticks, bug spray, dvds.

Family game night... Bunch of board games and snacks.

Movie themed - netflix gift card, snacks, or movie tickets.

BBQ themed -

Sports themed

Pool basket

Wine basket

Coffee basket

Candy basket

Scratch-offs

Gift cards/certificate to restaurant, hair/nail salon, spa

Check pinterest for ideas.

It's a lacrosse team. I was considering buying some lacrosse gear but I feel maybe everyone has the stuff they need already but the tickets/signed memorabilia might be a nice touch.
Thank you!

We had to do this for our nursery school. These were the themes each class had to do.

Play doh
Cooking/baking
Sports
Legos
Princess (maybe you could do superheroes)
Games (board games)
Bath

Re: raffle basket theme ideas

Just do the scratch offs! It's always a hit and gets the most tickets

you can get $50 worth of scratch offs and put it in a basket with some summer stuff like you mentioned.

I ran the spring auction at my son's school one year.

If you are looking to gear the basket to appeal to adults, restaurant gift cards are always popular (we make a basket by adding a bottle or two of wine).

We've done "romance" baskets - with a champagne, chocolate, and then either a gift certificate to a florist or a restaurant.

Workout themed baskets - like a yoga studio gift certificate with a mat and a water bottle.

A popular basket was a Dunkin Donuts basket - DD coffee and all sorts of gear (travel mugs, etc.).

Picnic theme - A nice cooler bag or picnic basket and a gift certificate to a deli or bagel store

Spa basket - gift certificate for local spa or a mani/pedi place or hair salon and then fill basket with beauty/spa products.

Cook's Delight - Maybe some cooking tools and cookbooks and add in a gift card to a local grocery store or gourmet shop.

For kids/family baskets -

Family experiences, like passes to Adventureland or a local museum or the aquarium in a basket with some toys or books is always popular.

Family Game Night basket - different board games with maybe a gift certificate to a local pizzeria.

We've done lego baskets, sports themed baskets (with team apparel/accessories), arts and craft baskets.

You can do an ice cream lover basket -- Carvel gift card or another ice cream place with ice cream sundae cups, scoop, toppings, etc.

I think if you add some sort of gift card in -- even like $20-$25 range and then spend the rest of your budget filling out the basket with some tangible items -- it works best. People like the idea of getting a gift card they can use. It seems more valuable than just a bunch of "stuff" even if it's a cute theme.

As others have mentioned, a lotto tree/bouquet is always a popular idea. Also, you could do a "gift card tree." By a plant and then attach a few gift cards to it... don't need to be high value but maybe $10 Starbucks, $20 local pizza place or bagel store or grocery store or CVS, etc.

Re: raffle basket theme ideas

I had won one at a soccer event...

Everything was in a duffle bag.

Inside were
2 travel mugs
2 ponchos
a hat for him and a headband for her (these were wintery items)

a bag of handwarmers and a bag of feet warmers.

But maybe put some mosquito spray and suntan lotion.

I agree with this. We also did that for son's school auction. We thought people has a lot of stuff at home (balls, water bottles, board games, etc), that it was better to put "experiences" in the baskets, in the form of gift cards. The items we put in the baskets worked more as 'decoration' around certain theme.
