If you store clothing or other items inside those large plastic tubs/bins...
did you ever notice the while powdery film inside sides of them when you take them out of storage? I have various brand name bins and they almost all have this white dusty film on the interior insides. I tried to find out what the white film is, but not much luck. has anyone noticed this? what do you suspect it is?

Probably a by product of production. I don't think anything about it, just wipe out the bins.

Maybe leftover cocaine from the Limelight days?

This. I wipe them out, line them with tissue paper at the bottom and then a layer on top of my clothes before putting the lid on and away for the season.

This is a plastic coating byproduct from injection molding to permit the extruded plastic to adhere to the mold and then be dislodged from the mold. It is plastic. You should wash out or wipe out the container prior to using. i would not assume a storage container is food safe though. I line my plastic storage bin with tissue paper prior to storing clothing. Before wearing, I would also wash the clothing.

If you take a look in the sunlight, I am sure you will see it. It looks cloudy.

Do you think washing the clothing will sufficiently remove this powder? I ask from a concern about the endocrine system and BPA, etc.

I wish I knew about this or realized. I just only know I don't see the film when I purchase them, only see it after them being in storage for a while.
