Another playground thread
I'm looking for small playgrounds, preferably gated. It really only has to have a small play structure for 2-5 year olds. Maybe swings for the baby, but not necessary. I just want something easier than the big parks so I don't have to worry about DD2 on a tall structure with openings or trying to run to different sections of the park. I thought school playgrounds would be a good idea for summer, but I tried the one by my mom on spring break and the playground gates were chained shut :( I'm North Shore Nassau, but I have family on the south shore. Since we go to both shores or meet in between, any suggestions are great. Thanks!

Another playground thread
There are a few in Farmingdale. One is bigger than the other but still only one way in/out.

Re: Another playground thread
Eisenhower Park has a new small playground right inside the Merrick Ave. entrance. It was nice, swings and a climbing area with slide. I was there alone with my almost 3 yr old granddaughter and 10 month old grandson, and felt it was easy to watch them there.

Another playground thread
There is a cute little playground on Emory Road in Mineola, just north of Jericho Turnpike. It's just randomly placed in the middle of a neighborhood...perfect for little ones!

Thanks! I'll look for this. I would sometimes take DD1 to the one off Jericho by the library.

Cool. I woder if this is what I saw them building last year. The giant Eisenhower playground is difficult because DD1 and DD2 always want to go in different areas.

Also if you're in this area def check out Broadway park near the Merrilon Ave train station. Lots of shade, a few picnic tables, sandbox, & they have tons of hand-me-down ride on toys for the kids. I can't remember if there are baby swings though...

Re: Another playground thread
My favorite is Lakeville Park in Great Neck. It's mostly enclosed and shady with two playground areas, cute sprinklers, & clean bathrooms. Best part is that it's never crowded.
