Don't post the concerts you have been to (Facebook) Small edit at top.
Don't do it.
These are all clever ways for identity theft "bad guys" to get more information. I t just takes one person without a locked profile and a few of these "where we you born" surveys that people do.
People know what street you grew up on, your favorite sports team, THE FIRST CONCERT YOU EVER WENT TO......sound familiar?
If you have it on your FB page delete it.
ETA: I just saw another today of what you were doing the year you were in HS. SMFH!! First car owned, First job...............

Re: Don't post the concerts you have been to (Facebook)
That''s why my profile does not list my birth date, my marital status, where I was born, where I live, etc. I am a very private person. DH on the other hand.... He takes all these stupid FB quizzes and shares pages without thinking what they are about.

It would be awesome if a hacker thought my first concert ever was Public Enemy
I posted it but none of them are even close to the three that I consider my first shows.

Re: Don't post the concerts you have been to (Facebook)
I'm always amazed at how much personal info people post on FB when it's in the form of a "fun game". The concert one is one of the least invasive ones. There's a bunch of them that I've seen that really get into personal stuff that nobody on-line needs to know, and is often used as verification info.

I don't do things anyway but how can "bad guys" get anything useful based on what concert you go too.
Personally my profile is basically private. I do post public posts but those are all contests where you have to share something to win.

True. I don't have any security questions on any of my CC or bank accounts related to concerts. Mainly because I never go to concerts so that would be a bad security question.
LOL

Yes. However, I haven't paid much attention to those recent concert posts but I don't think they even ask you what your first one was. I think they ask you to list like 5 you have been to and one you haven't and people have to guess which is the one you haven't. But again, I don't use concerts as a security question anyway. And I don't participate in that FB crap either. So I'm good

Same here. Plus, my friends and I go to concerts all the time and we post pictures from those concerts, so the information is already out there.

I haven't seen this one yet (I know I will, because there are a bunch of people on my wall that love doing these...), but I know for a fact that at least one secure site I use has my first car owned as one of the security questions, as well as another that has my first company I worked for, so I'm sure a bunch of people do, too.....

This isn't really an issue if you have your profile set to "friends only", and you actually know your friends, and don't have 987 strangers as "friends" I don't repost or participate in most of that nonsense, and my profile is pretty much fort knox unless you know me.

GENERALLY I would say no. But you must consider anything on the internet as front page of the NY Times.
There is a reason these things are making the rounds.

Re: Don't post the concerts you have been to (Facebook) Small edit at top.
Even if your profile is set to just friends and even if you don't accept strangers or acquaintances, if you give any app permission to access your profile, your information is out there and stored in multiple databases. If you take any of those quizzes, play games, or participate in any type of posts where that box pops up and asks if you grant FB permission to give that site access your info, you're potentially giving away all the info in your profile to scammers. Anyone can develop those apps/games/quizzes. FB doesn't verify that it's a legitimate company or anything. There's a reason a lot of them have a common theme: to ask for personal info that you deem irrelevant.

It doesn't ask what your first concert was or even what your favorite concert was. I find most facebook "games" annoying but this one is interesting.
