Yes I know what you mean. I'm forced to fly them though whenever I want to go non stop to Myrtle Beach (which is in a few weeks.). Ugh...

I've never flown with them. Lol just looked bc we are moving to myrtle beach in June. Was looking for cheap ways to come back and visit. Is it that bad?

It's either perfectly fine or a complete disaster. They are the best option for non-stops between NY and Myrtle though unfortunately.

We've had some great trips.

We've also had some substantial delays (4-5 hrs).

But, the worst was when our plane was on time - and I lugged a 2.5 year old and a 10 week old through security, set up at the gate, to find out our plane was cancelled because of "weather" (on a perfectly sunny Tuesday). When I went to the gate to rebook - they told me they could get us out on Saturday...

Lmao. I am soooo sorry about that. It is the last time I trust a deal like that.

OMG how awful! I haven't had that terrible of a experience but always delayed out of LGA and now the nickel and diming you from bags, to seat selection. And now apparently they are going to give a hard time about the "personal item".

They pack you in like sardines too.

They luckily rebooked us the next morning out of AC but, we had to rent a car and get a hotel... But, it was better than waiting until Saturday since DH was already there... It was me, the kids and my inlaws.

Hahahah!
I live in MB so this is pretty much the only option non stop to NY. I' actually have a flight Friday morning, the trick is to get the first flight cause as the day goes on the probability of a delay goes up to about 100% lol. I also just paid $80 to check one bag not to happy about that!

Does anyone know if Spirit participates with AMEX rewards? My parents want me to book them on the same flight as us using their AMEX points but I looked on the AMEX rewards website and it didn't present itself as an option...

I saw that - good luck. I know you aren't going for that long so if you don't get out tomorrow - it may be a few days before they can rebook you.

We are trying Allegiant this summer, I hear they are on the same level as Spirit but, they were cheaper (gasp, something can be cheaper, that isn't a good sign) and out of a smaller airport closer to where we live (as opposed to dealing with the nasty terminal at LGA).
