Ancestry DNA vs. other DNA mail away services
My mom is very interested in finding out her heritage. Anyone have any experience with Ancestry DNA, or another company?

Re: Ancestry DNA vs. other DNA mail away services
I just sent my sample away to Ancestry. My aunt and grandfather just received their results. Very interesting, the only disappointing part is that they can't differentiate between certain ethnicities. For my family it said 77% Greek/Italian, it's all grouped together. I'm adopted but know that my parents were from South America, not sure how the groupings will be for me.

I've done ancestry but I heard National Geographic is way better in narrowing your results. My husband is gonna use Nat Geo when he's ready. It's called Geno 2.0 Next Generation

Did ancestry and thought it was very cool. Mostly Italian 80% but the part of me we thought was French is actually a middle eastern mix! My mom said that her grandmother was French. Seems she spoke French but wasn't actually from France. So yea, I thought It was cool
My friend is adopted and is waiting for her results. Should be any day now. That's super exciting! We are making bets on her heritage lol
