Train from NY to Baltimore Maryland
I am not a avid train rider but wanted to take the train from long Island to Maryland(visiting Towson University). I know there is a way and tried googling but would i have to go to Penn and then what would I be taking to Maryland?

You take LIRR to Penn from LI, then Amtrak to Baltimore
It's long, you can fly Southwest from Islip to Baltimore in like 55 minutes

You can take an Amtrak to Maryland from Penn Station. I'm not sure how close it stops to Towson State though.

I wouldn't recommend flying, if not driving, the train is closer. As others have said, take Amtrak to Baltimore, from there you will have to switch to one of the MTA buses to get to Towson or of course, take a cab.

I've done Amtrak. It's nice and relaxing. Less stressful than flying. Depending on which train, it's about 2-3 hours, so not too long.

I agree. I've done Amtrak from NYC to D.C. A bunch of times (same train that stops in Baltimore). I find it way more enjoyable than flying and god forbid driving!

Re: Train from NY to Baltimore Maryland
Once you get to Penn Station in Baltimore you can hop on the Light Rail to go north of the city, I'd look at the light rail stops (MTA Maryland website) to see if any go close to Towson, if not, you might want to get Uber involved.
