If your kids have/had the flu...

How long is the flu lasting in your kids? DD was diagnosed on Sun (as soon as she showed symptoms) and now it's Fri and she still has a fever. On Tues, her temp was around 99 all day, she had energy, was playing...and then it went back up to 103 on Wed. Since then, it hasn't gotten that high again, but it's been between 99-101 consistently. This morning she woke up with 99.0, ate breakfast, played, and then all of a sudden she crashed and it was 101.8.

When DD had it she was out of school for 5 full days.
I'd say about a week total of being sick

My son started with fever on Monday. Today his highest was 99, which I'm not even considering a fever. Praying it doesn't go up!

Mine recovered quickly - felt sick on Friday, was diagnosed with flu on Saturday, and by Sunday was still sick but felt much better without any fever (no tamiflu). He probably could have returned to school Monday but we kept him home just in case and he want back Tuesday.

When DS had it last year, he was down a good 10 days. His fever would come and go (low grade at 99-100), and that was a good 7 days at least. He had it over his February break and then missed a couple days of Pre-K after that. When I called the PED about it, they said the fever coming and going was normal and that it was the body working itself out. If it lasted another 2 days I was supposed to bring him in, but it stopped after 7 days.
