Bug Bites at this time of year?
Yesterday DD woke up with what looks like several bug bites on her stomach and torso -about 5 spread out over the area. She was complaining they were itchy. I freaked out and striped her bed down and inspected every last crevice- I was paranoid it was bed bugs. I found nothing. The bed was clean as a whistle.
They honestly looked like mosquito bites but I know there are no mosquitos around in this weather.
What the eff could it be? Spider bites?

God I hope not! Our cats don't go out so I don't think they have any. They haven't been scratching. That would be a nightmare!

Any chance it could be Molluscum virus? The same thing happened here years ago and after numerous dr visits and it turned out to be Molluscum. It lasted for a LONG time and I too originally though bed bugs and stripped our entire house.

Is it on her back too? Could be pityriasis rosea or another viral rash. DD had pityriasis rosea a few months ago. I too thought they were bug bites and freaked. Then I thought it might've been a contact rash. I brought her to the doc and it turned out to be the pityriasis rosea.

Not on her back but I will check again. Would it have to be on her back to be a viral rash like that?

I'm not sure. I know pityriasis rosea mostly appears on the back but DD had it front and back. Have you used a new detergent? New clothes? Anything like that?

All things are the same- detergent, etc. I am thinking it's a bug bite of some kind- because I looked again and I can almost see a tooth or fang type mark in the welt. It's getting better today- fading and getting smaller. Maybe a spider?

Definitely sounds like a bite.

I'm not saying it is, but it's possible it could be bed bugs, even if you don't see them. BB dig into the mattress and primarily come out in the dark - hiding in the light.
If she continues to wake up with bites, then I'd just get a protective cover (Bed Bath and Beyond has it) and wrap the mattress in it. That gets rid of them.

I'd take her in to the ped. They are really experienced at identifying rashes/bites.

OMG This is horrifying. The only thing is- where the heck would they have come from- we haven't traveled in months so it's not like we could have brought them home. Ughhhhhh

Re: Bug Bites at this time of year?
Did she play outside on Wednesday? My friend totally thought she had bed bug bites and it turned out she just had poison ivy that she picked up when taking out the garbage.

They could get picked up anywhere that's public. It's so gross. I never had them, but I know someone who did. She even had an exterminator come but the exterminator just said to use the mattress cover and wash all clothes in hot water.
Again, this really could be something else. I'm just throwing that out there. I hope it is just a random rash!

Put some Apple Cider Vinegar on them and they should clear right up. That stuff is a miracle worker for bites, molluscum, etc.

how do you do this specifically? My DD has something on her arm that I suspect is one MC, and I am looking to try this before it spreads.
