Birthday party ideas for small group of kids (5yr old)
Am looking for great birthday party ideas for my 5 year old. Instead of inviting the whole class to a bouncy place, I'd really like to do something small but more memorable this year. I was looking into the penguin encounter at the Riverhead aquarium but looks like it's only July & August. Anyone have any other ideas like that?

Take the kids to a kids play at john engemann and then for pizza. It's a great theatre, great plays and tickets are $15

Thanks, that's a cute idea. Not too concerned with price....I'm ok with spending the same as I would for 20 kids at a bounce place. I'll check that out though.

we have been to a party at the theater mentioned above it was nice. Afterwards they have room that they rent (its next door) so we went there for food and cake.
Maybe do build a bear?

Girls or boys? We went to an awesome birthday party at a tea room. The girls loved getting all dressed up and being fancy.

When our little guy turned five we took his best friends to adventure land for the day then back to our house for dinner and dessert

Thanks for the ideas, yes willing to travel a bit. I looked at the Bronx Zoo but I didn't see any special add on type things that we wouldn't do on a normal visit to the zoo. That's why I would love to do that Penguin Encounter at aquarium bc it's expensive and not something we'd do on a normal visit, just wish they had it other than the summer.
