Is there a way to not show you are logged in or the last time you were on FB to your friends? I think its linked with messengers where you can see all your friends and if they are on you see a green dot otherwise you see how many minutes or hours ago they were on. How can I prevent friends from seeing that? Do i have to delete the messenger app?

Re: FB privacy
In the past you could just turn the messaging option off. Now that they have that separate app, I think you would have to get rid of the app.

I was looking to do the same and did this. Not sure if it works. Go into messenger. Then click on "People", at the top it says "All" and "active". Tap active and turn yourself off.

I THINK you can turn off "chat". If you do its now a messenger app RATHER than a "live" chat.
I turned it off and have no problems.

Wow, didn't know that app did that. yet another great reason I won't ever use it
I hate that it keeps telling me so and so uses it and so does like the majority of my friend list. I don't care. If I'm at home I use my computer to see the messages. If I'm on my phone I flip the setting to view page as desktop to see the messages and switch back.
I refuse to use the app for facebook or facebook messenger I access facebook via it's webpage.
