tony quit. he got a BBQ
chris quit. he got a BBQ
i quit, gave proper two-weeks' notice. i got... nothing. i barely got a good bye. i didn't even get a hand shake.
what i did get was talk behind my back about how i surprised them with my resignation and how had i come to them and asked for more money they would have given me more money to keep me. did anyone say they were sorry to see me go? no. did anyone ask me if giving me more money would keep me from walking? no.
really?
you're going to talk behind my back about how i just up and left when i'm the ONLY person who has worked here who has given you a proper two weeks to find a replacement.
oh, yeah, the replacement your hired two days before i left and you expect me to train her to do able to do what i do, how i do it on less than two days' training??????? sure. go for it.
and judge, that was when i realized MORE THAN EVER that i had made the right decision to just walk away from that company.

Ugh! People suck. Just remember you are moving on to a better opportunity with a company with an HR department and you will never have to endure the type of bs this company put you through again.

Are you really surprised though? I would've called them out on it, privately. Just take your boss aside and be honest with him/her. Or say nothing at all and be grateful you will no longer be employed by jerks.

I'm sorry they did that to you. You deserved better than that for putting up with their crap. You should totally give them the resignation letter I suggested in the other post. Totally fitting for them. Just focus on your new job now and forget these douchebags.

My dh's boss wouldn't acknowledge his existence for the two weeks when dh gave his resignation.
I knew I was being laid off months before I got the notice because my boss just stopped talking to me.
I don't know how businesses survive. Good luck!!
