Rick Perry tapped for Secretary of Energy

Donald Trump has selected Rick Perry to be energy secretary, according to two sources directly involved in the transition and selection process.
He had been summoned to Trump Tower for a meeting Monday to discuss the position after having been contacted over the weekend. The meeting was only finalized on Sunday.
The other contenders for the position were Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, and Ray Washburne, a key Trump fundraiser, former RNC finance chair, restaurateur and investor in oil and gas operations.
The former Texas governor sits on two corporate boards - one of them is Energy Transfer Partners - and that may present a confirmation issue. Energy Transfer Partners has a subsidiary known as Dakota Access LLC, which is attempting to build the Dakota Access Pipeline. That Dakota Access Pipeline has been the subject of public protests over its potential environmental impact and damage to Native American lands.

I find it odd that SO many of the Trump supporters I know both IRL and in forums are suddenly SOOOOOOO quiet now. They didn't shut the hell up throughout the election but now that he won, it's dead air. I'm thinking that between his cabinet pics and his childish, ranting on twitter some of his supporters are actually second guessing their vote and thinking, "WTF did I just do by electing him?!?!?".
So much for "surrounding himself with good people".................we're screwed EVERY way from Sunday.

Unless they can STILL blame HRC, they have nothing to say I've noticed....I mean, it's also possible people don't understand this stuff, they just wanted to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

I thought the same thing, until I was talking to a staunch Conservative the other day. Trump came up and I just rolled my eyes. This person was like, "You don't like Donald Trump?!" I responded with something along the lines of of course I don't like him--I actually despise him. She was in shock, asking how could I not like him and "look at all the great things he's doing!!!" When asked what "great" things he's done, she actually said "Look at all his cabinet picks! He's made great picks, REALLY great picks." At that point I knew there was no getting through to this person. Embarrassingly enough, this is a close family member  . It's like she's been brainwashed.
