They've totally cut down on the free (franzia) wine over the years. Now it's down to 1 large carafe per couple. When I was 25 we used to essentially have our own box. Chat Icon

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is open till 9pm on Fri and Sat and admission is suggested price. I usually give $5. Their tree is up and is gorgeous if you've never seen it.

NYC night?

Every year, I meet my college roommates by the tree. We grab coffee at Blue Bottle or Pret A Manger, a couple of Godiva chocolates or a pretzel from a vendor and walk around tree and stop in St. Pats.
The Met is a quick ride uptown and has a beautiful tree in the medieval sculpture hall. Def take time to walk around it to see the displays underneath.
Afterward, we usually hit one of the tapas/wine bars on the UES. Sojourn and Room 1705 are always safe bets, but sometimes we just look around to see what looks good n who has the best happy hour :)

Why would you ever have it sober when you could have it with free wine??

There was a place by my old apartment at union sq that was great, but I can't remember the name. Now in Brooklyn I haven't found a great place yet.
