how much pizza?
I'm having dd's 4th birthday out, and am adding on pizza for the adults. The place told me to just let them know how many pies to order for the adults. Pizza will be served around 1:15. For approx. 20 adults, should I figure 40 slices (2/person), or is that overestimating? I know that at a kidde party I never really go back for a 2nd slice. I don't want to run out but don't exactly want to be paying for and bringing home entire leftover pies (which is what happened to me last year...). TIA!

Re: how much pizza?
I think as long as you can swing it, it's always better to risk having pizza you don't need (you can take it home and freeze it!) than to have guests leave hungry.
For my ds's 2nd birthday party I felt we didn't have enough pizza. For his 3rd birthday, we CRAZY overestimated to make up for the previous year and ended up taking full pies home
I still say though, better to have too much than have guests peeking into empty boxes of pizza.

Parents won't eat that much. I'd figure 1.5 person. Most will eat 1 slice and maybe a few will eat 2. I've always seen parents be reserved when it comes to eating at parties.

They won't eat that much. Maybe one slice and some won't take it. I'd get 3 pies and take home whatever is left.

i would say 3 or 4 pizzas would be good ( so like 32 slices). i don't think parents go to kid's parties at a place expecting a full meal HAHA so they'll probably just take one slice as a "snack"... and only take a second slice if they see theres some left. you could also maybe put out a veggie tray or something (costco has them for like $10) too for them to snack on, if you want a little more food for the adults... but i think 3 or 4 pizzas would be fine...

Re: how much pizza?
I've been to children's parties where the adults didn't realize there wasn't a lot of extra pizza. The adults took pizza and the kids, who obviously eat slower, wanted more and there was none left. So, I always err on the side of over ordering. Nobody ever complains that there was too much pizza. (But I can assure you, 4 years later we're still talking about that party where there wasn't even enough food for everyone.)
If you're only have 20 adults, I'd probably order 4 pies. But if you think some kids might come with 2 parents (and thus, more than 20 adults), I'd just go ahead with 5 pies. Better safe than sorry!

Re: how much pizza?
If it's at a kiddie place, I would account for only one slice per adult. Some don't even take a slice. Did this just recently and still wound up with 3 pies to take home….

Most adults don't show up to a kiddie birthday party expecting to be fed a meal. I would get 3 adult pies.
