Mine is in middle. I feel like it's safer in a side collision however you do have to check the owners manual because each car us duffere and some you can't put in the middle safely.

When I had one kid, she was on the passenger side. I felt the install was better, there's no latch in the middle, and it's easier to put a kid in the car when it's outboard. When I had my second, she went on the driver side.

My DS is behind the passenger seat. I have a small car and would not be able to sit comfortably if he was in the middle.

I have 3, but I answered behind passenger because that's where my 1st was. Middle is usually safest, but my I can't install in our middle seat.
When I was looking at cars and car seat safety last month, I came across an article about front seat failure (where the front seat can collapse backwards in a rear end accident). Because of that, it's safer to be behind an unoccupied seat. It's pretty scary because there isn't a good safety test for it.

i have mine on drivers side, dw has on passenger side.

i dont remember why we did that. i think it was because i wanted to put the bigger side down during a trip. and i never moved it back.

our car seats or cars? arent compatible with the middle and/or the police station told us not to do that. there is a reason i just cant remember it LOL

Until about 6 we rode with her in the back seat so who cares and she rode behind the passenger seat or middle. But then one day someone rode with us and she flipped over and that was that.. now she loves this side.

I hate not being able to see her. But she loves it.

My DD was born first, she was behind the passenger seat. Now that I have two, my DS is behind the drivers seat.

When it was just DD I had her behind the passenger seat when she was first born then move her to the middle when she went in the convertible seat.

When DS was born I had her FF behind the driver seat (was advised to mover her there) and DS went behind the passenger. During a trip to florida I move him to the middle seat and he has stayed there for 2+ years (I still have him rear facing) when I move him FF I will probably move him behind the passenger seat but we will see

I just realized I never answered my own question- DD is in the middle. I was told by multiple sources that middle was safest (including the guy who inspected our seats). In speaking with other parents it sounded like we were the only ones with a seat in the middle so I was curious.

Most manufacturers don't allow latch in the middle, but you can do a middle seatbelt install (which is how we have it).

With one behind passenger bc it was easier to reach back if I needed to. With 2 I have the older behind the driver and younger behind passenger

We put baby in middle when we had one child. We now have 1 kid behind passenger and 1 kid behind driver. When third is born, baby will be behind driver and 2 bigger kids will be in middle and behind passenger.

In my DH's car, behind the passenger seat. He's too tall to fit the car seat behind him on his side. In my mother's car, behind the driver's seat- 1 because driver always protects their side and 2 because it's a mini van and there's no seat behind the passenger.

ETA: The middle seat is definitely not the safest place in either of our cars. It might be okay in the minivan, but definitely not DH's jeep!
