Re: How are you dealing with FB?

I've only unfriended one person - and it wasn't really about her posts. There were a couple that irritated me but really it was because she was someone I went to HS with, never friends with there, we never chatted or shared a single "like" between the two of us and even when we saw each other at a reunion, we never even spoke so I thought - why be "friends?" It wasn't done out of anger or spite, but I can't see her being particularly sad about it either.

I've unfollowed a few. Yes, I could just keep scrolling but I have no self control (with reading things - I rarely comment if I can reasonably expect someone to come back and attack me - I don't have thick skin and I recognize that about myself), so reading it just made me mad and honestly some of the stuff really had me looking at some friends and family in a very different/bad light. Call it sticking my head in the sand, but some of these people I always thought better of. So, better to not even see it. Hopefully in person we won't discuss it. I know they will never see where I cam coming from and I'm tired of trying to figure out where they are coming from. I have tried!Chat Icon

I unfollowed a lot of people and unfriended only 1 or 2. I have no problem with people's other points of views and I welcome them. We're a diverse community. It's THE WAY the person communicated those views. I do not appreciate if someone calls me "stupid" or "a moron" because of who I vote for. I have NEVER called someone a name because of who they decide is their choice, it's the nature of our country. While I might not agree with their reasoning, I would never call them stupid. Also, any offensive posts, automatic unfollow/unfriend.

difference of opinion I'm fine with - I don't post much politically on FB.
If you're CONSTANTLY posting the same stuff over and over and I'm just Chat Icon Chat Icon and getting aggravated, I just un-follow those people

Re: How are you dealing with FB?

I unfriended someone who blatently & directly insulted my intelligence because they had uncontrolled keyboard rage due of their dislike & nonacceptance of the election outcome. I have no use for people like that.

And to the many I un-followed - i did it because I was sick of the non-stop negativity every time I logged on. No harm, no foul. Most of them I forgot I was even "friends" with until the election came along, and then all of a sudden I had so many political analysts as friends! Amazing.

I'll revisit my friends list when this election hysteria eventually dies down a bit.

I've engaged in some respectful conversations. I have friends who lean right. It's just fundamental differences. Always respectful on both sides though when talking about a topic.

I only unfollow multi level marketing people who post their stuff constantly.

I just scroll through and read what I want to read. It's the same thing here. I used to come on here all the time but now that it's become so negative and disrespectful, it's a total turnoff.
