Re: Outright lies are the norm now???
The scary part is all his lies. He tweeted that he never asked his children to get top level secret clearance yet there are picures of Ivanka sitting in on a meeting with Trump and the Japanese leaders.

Look, I did not vote for him, but he's going to be our president. Every time I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoping he'll really be a president for EVERYONE, he keeps proving me wrong with who he chooses for his "team." It's scary. I really hope this isn't just to boost his business either. We are not one big hotel. These are people's lives.

I never said the intention was to shut down a plant or further quoted anything stating same. It's the notion that one less American made product moving out of the country is great.
I think Trump's tweet is interpretation over insinuation. This is my opinion of it; it's boosting country moral when frankly it is low.
I like how we can have discussions, albeit not agreeing with each other and not get nasty.

I agree if you isolate this one tweet its a matter of interpretation. However when you combine everything about what he has said, done, written, who he appointed to his administration its easy to interpret negatively.

Re: Outright lies are the norm now???
Regarding Trump, I sort of think everyone needs to stop being appalled and start being active in real forms of political engagement. I think that social networking turned into a crutch in this election, where everyone felt like if they posted an article and a bunch of "friends" agreed with them, then they were "involved."
Real political engagement involves donating to advocacy groups, haranguing your representatives by phone and mail, marching on specific, targeted issues that are actively in play in the apparatus of government at all levels, etc.
Maybe the people posting on these threads are already doing those things, but if you're not, there are more productive ways to channel your outrage.
