Daycare gifts
This has probably been asked a thousand times but I can't get he search function to work. What do you guys give for daycare gifts for the holidays? Is cash tacky? Would gift cards be better? How about floaters/assistants?

Daycare gifts
Lead teacher/main assistant - cash ($25-$50+) - this year I may give more because I did not give an end of the year gift/teacher's appreciation gift. Floaters - gift cards ($5 to DD or Starbucks)

Cash or gift cards. They don't get paid a lot so cash I always consider the best gift.

I always do cash. If not cash, then definitely gift cards.

Re: Daycare gifts
Take it from someone who worked and owned a daycare for years. Cash is best. The teachers and staff get paid next to nothing and truly have one of the hardest jobs!

Re: Daycare gifts
Last year I did Target GC's. This year we are more stretched when it comes to $ so I can't do as much. I am giving gifts (bath and body works stuff).

Agreed. Id rather give a $5.00 or $10.00 gc then a box of chocolate or soaps etc that are just a waste IMO.

Re: Daycare gifts
We give $50 to the three main teachers and $20 to the floater. Personally I would rather get a $10 dunkin gift card than a candle, mug or some other dust collector.

Daycare gifts
Thanks. I had no intention of dust collectors! Just wasn't sure if straight up cash would be frowned upon, but I think that's what I'll do.
Not sure what amount yet, though I'm thinking $100+ to the head teacher and main assistant. That doesn't even seem like enough to me, I literally could not survive without these women.

I do straight up cash. Used to do Visa cards but the $5 fee id rather give to them. NO ONE will look down on cash!

When she had one main teacher I'd give her $100 When the class had 2 main teachers I'd give $50 each.
I never gave to floaters because there were so many of them and I never knew who any of them were and they were rarely the same day to day.

I feel the same way. My DDs teachers deserve so much more then I could ever give. I give $100.00 to the main teacher and assistant teacher in both my DDs rooms. I also gift at Vday and Teacher appreciate day and end of the year. My husband jokes I am an over gifter but they watch my most precious gifts and I could not survive without them, they do such an amazing job!!

Re: Daycare gifts
I'm thinking of giving $60 to the main lead teacher of his classroom who's there every day & $50 to each of his two other teachers (who aren't there as many hours but still do a lot of hard work). I hope that's good & not cheap. I want to be generous as best I can, they're really nice ladies & it can't be easy!
