Re: paris/ copenhagen

I stayed at an air b&b in Copenhagen, so no hotel to recommend there.

For food we liked:
Kanal Cafeen for traditional Smorgasbord
Nørrebro Bryghus for a nice beer and food tasting

We went to some place in the art area, but didn't think it was so good.

There was a famous bakery, but I forgot the name.

Noma is supposed to be amazing.

Paris food:

Brasserie Thoumieux (we went twice we liked it so much!)
Chez Michel
Bistro Paul Bert (although I remember being a bit freaked out because the strange couple at the table next to us offered us some food off their plates... But the food was good)

Have fun!

Haven't been to Copenhagen but went to Paris once. We stayed at a hotel in district 13. It's on a quite street in St Germain and close to Notredame and seine river. When we went it was busy tourist season and it was very crowded in couple of places. Some of the things we did were going to the Louvre, Notredame, took seine river boat tour, Bacilica Montemorte, Arc de Triomphe, Luxembourg gardens, walked around pontneuf area, and of course the Eiffel tower..all typical touristy things to do but it was our first time and we wanted to see all the main sites. I wanted to the see the Eiffel tower once during the day and also at night when it's lit up with lights and had fireworks so we went twice. We debated whether to go to the palace of Versailles or not since it was a short trip but decided to take a cab there to save time and it was totally worth it. We were there for four and half days but were able to do a lot because we took cabs a lot.

My most memorable things about Paris have to do with food..the cute and romantic ice cream place near the hotel we went to everyday after dinner, having breakfast at a cozy cafe sitting outside every morning, and our meal at Le Jules Verne which is in the Eiffel Tower. The lines at the Eiffel Tower were very long but we were able to skip the lines and take the restaurant's private elevator to go up.
