Thanks
I think he may finally be getting over this. Almost 24 hours of no fever.

Low fever for 6 days?
Have they checked for strep or a uti? I would be asking for both of those tests at this point.

they didn't test because he doesn't have a sore throat but if I am going back tomorrow, i am making them swab for everything & take blood. It's really ridiculous because i am cluless, I'm ot a nurse or dr. I have never been throufh this & the doctors are just not being thorough enough. The only thing they swabbed for was flu & its negative. I was told if he still had a temp by tonight, they'd need to xray him... ugh

Re: Low fever for 6 days?
This happened to my DS last year, it ended up being allergies. He now takes allergy medicine and Flonase and it went away almost instantly. He did have a cough though, too.

My ds does have a cough along with fever. It never occurred to me that allergies cause fever but I'm not suspecting them. You never know though.

Low fever for 6 days?
Croup is going around right now like wild fire. DD just got over it -- had a low grade fever for 4-5 days and a cough that alternated between the typical croup wheeze and a phlegmy/mucusy cough. Was put on low dose prednisone steroids for 3 days and immediately improved. Didn't really wanna eat much during that time because her throat hurt from coughing. Might be worth mentioning?

Re: Low fever for 6 days?
Could just be a virus that needs to run its course. My DD (at that age) had a virus with a fever between 101 and over 102+ that lasted for EIGHT STRAIGHT DAYS. She was tested for strep twice, negative both times, and checked twice for pneumonia, flu, and bronchitis. She even had blood work done to make sure she was ok and the results came back fine, it really was just a virus that took a while to clear up. On the 9th day she woke up ever free and was fine after that.
Hope your DS feels better soon!
