Mom-Day-Out ideas
So today I so needed a break, hubby was home and all of a sudden I decided I needed to go out by myself, no kids, no husband, just me. Well I went to the movies to see The Girl On The Train, all by myself! And it felt pretty good! I've never done that! I think I'm gonna do stuff like that more often! Next time I might go to my favorite restaurant or one that I've been wanting to try. Other things I should do on a mom-day-out?

Good for you - did you read the book prior to the movie? I have heard not so great reviews so wanted your opinion?
If I take time for myself I will go for a walk on the beach, go shopping, go for a facial / get my nails done, meet a friend for dinner.
Thats about it for me.

By yourself or with other moms? I also enjoy going to the movies on my own.
I recently started going for walks around a lake or beach on my own. I've been trying to be more mindful and I find that being around water and looking at the sky gives me a little inner peace. Now that it's starting to get colder I might wander around the mall alone and window shop.
I've also been going into the city on my own to walk around the parks and wander the larger museums.

That's great. When I have solo time, I like to go for a walk, window shopping, mani and pedi. Also meeting friends for a coffee, a library.

Love Barnes and Noble by myself, stop at Starbucks in the store, grab a coffee and walk around looking at books.

It's so nice to get out alone! I remember when dd2 was little and so clingy, one day I told dh I was going out alone that weekend bc I'd had such a rough day. Even the idea of a break a few days away helped. Saturday came and everyone had slept well and napped well and I was feeling so much better but I took my sweet time eating lunch out alone and wandering target for a long as I could.

I actually get a lot of time by myself. I travel for work so I get time alone that way but DH and I def let each other have time.
Running has become by newest addiction. Shopping, nice weather beach to read a book.

I didn't read the book but loved the movie! I liked the twists and the story of each character. Imo Emily B did a great job, I love her work!

I always find arts and craft classes therapeutic. I'm intrigued to try the ones at Michaels and AC Moore.

By myself. I usually go out with friends but it was such a last minute thing that I figured everyone was busy so I decided to still go out, just me.

Oh I totally agree with u!!! We must recharge our mommy batteries! Sometimes I let too much time pass without doing this cause I get too busy bringing the kids to schools, activities, doing laundry, cooking meals, picking up after my LOs (including DH sometimes!), etc, etc, etc! That's when I wanna pull all my hair out and leave screaming like a crazy person lol!

I've always wondered about those classes! They seem interesting and without so much going on. Hmmm I might give one a try!

That's so great and I'm so jealous!!! I've been dying to see the movie after reading the book and DH has no desire to see it. Maybe I'll be inspired by you and go see it myself :)
Before we had DD I would eat out a lot by myself when DH would work late. When I do get a few hours to myself I usually go shopping or run errands that are too annoying to do with DD. Not many fun things...

I saw it the other day by myself, great movie! I always go to the movies alone while my kids are at school during the day! Love it! No one is really socializing at the movies anyway since you are watching the movie...so no need to go with the gang LOL.
I also saw The Light Between Oceans recently, and that was really good!
