Cradle cap crisis
So DD STILL has cradle cap at 9 months. I cannot get rid of it without her hair coming out along with it. I have tried everything. Oil of any kind makes it worse. I bought special cradle cap shampoo, did nothing. Cradle cap brush, lice comb...loosens the scales but rips her hair out.
Please help! I will try anything!

Cradle cap crisis
Use mineral oil. Do not use anything scented (baby oil). Use the mineral oil before a bath and gently use a cradle cap brush and go in light circles. The bathe and wash hair with aquaphor wash and shampoo.

Cradle cap crisis
Don't do anything...it'll go away on its own. If it doesn't bother her then leave it alone and she'll grow out of it.

Re: Cradle cap crisis
Both my sons had it also for an extended period of time. I tried the hair wash, the baby oil, etc. It was a losing battle. I just let it be and it stopped on its own.

This.
Also, how often are you washing her hair?

There is a prescription lotion that cures it. Call your pediatrician. It was the only thing that worked for dd.

I had been washing it every other night but then switched to twice a week when it came back. Less washing seemed to make it worse so we're back to every other night, which I feel has made it ever so slightly better, but it's still really bad.
I tried mineral oil, baby oil, olive oil, aquaphor, cera ve and all of those made it even worse!

Re: Cradle cap crisis
Omg I know the struggle! Ds had it until 13 months! This might sound weird, but I totally credit it to this... It was showing no signs of receding anytime soon. We went to Florida and ds had very thin blond hair so we had to put sunscreen on his head (He wouldn't keep a hat on). Gone within a week! I couldn't believe it! I didn't even do it every day because it was hard get get out of his hair completely. I use banana boat baby. It's the one without all the bad ingredients if you got desperate and wanted to try.

Re: Cradle cap crisis
I had to get a Rx from Aa pediatric dermatologist. It went away pretty quickly after using it.

Just use a very gentle cleanser, no oils. If the ped is concerned, they will give an rx, but it usually clears up on it's own.

Re: Cradle cap crisis
Head and shoulders... And time... My ped said that if the cradle cap lasts longer, it may be a sign of eczema/skin disorders further down the line (my other 2 had very short episodes of cradle cap... But it was really intense for my 3rd).

Cradle cap crisis
I used coconut oil and after the bath used a comb to comb out the pieces and then it was mostly gone. My DD also didn't get it till like 7-8mos about.
