Major 9 month sleep regression
I am in dire need of help. Dd2 was sleeping through the night. Now she's waking up repeatedly from around 2am onwards. She will only sleep laying on me or DH. Once we move her back to the crib, she wakes up and it starts all over again. We've tried cio, and she is wailing for HOURS. It's not getting better day-by-day like I'd expect from cio. We are giving her meds for teething. She's waking up dd1. I am so sleep-deprived I shouldn't even be driving a car. I've gotten less than 4 hours sleep for the past 2 weeks. Oh and she's not really napping either. I don't even know if this post is coherent, I'm that tired. Any thoughts or advice?

I hope someone else can offer advice bc I have none other then to say coffee and sugar to stay awake and lots of wine to cope. :(

How does she fall asleep for the night? Do you put her down awake?

I don't believe in sleep regressions. In the first year or two they go through so much so things disrupt their patterns. I find that when they learn something new they will change their sleep. Time!!! They will change again.

Every baby is different. My daughter didn't STTN until she was 22 months old. I was a zombie for 2 years but I just kept telling myself that I would sleep again one day...and now she goes down at 7:30 and up between 6:30-7--it's amazing. She is 28 months.

I'm in the same boat. My DD is 10 months and still wakes twice a night. Doesn't sleep well unless she sleeps with us. Tried everything under the sun. Most babies just aren't good sleepers till later on. Might be teething, learning new things or separation anxiety...who knows.

That's part of the problem. She's so resistant to napping that she's exhausted and falls asleep with her bottle. Last night I put her to bed drowsy, not asleep, and she screamed. My husband rescued her, sigh. It's now 4:22 am and I'm letting her cry it out with interval method. The hard thing is she doesn't even stop crying while I'm in the room. It makes it worse. So no consoling going on.
Thank goodness for coffee.

We've officially hit the hour point. I'm going in every 10 minutes. She's still sitting up, screaming her head off. Good times.

Will she lay down at all in her crib when she is crying? DS went through a phase of crying like this and I would be able to rub his back to calm him/relax him and he would usually fall asleep not always but it did help him.

Re: Major 9 month sleep regression
No, she won't lay down! That's what worked with dd1, but she sits and/or stands. She cried for a little over an hour last night, then didn't wake up again (still sleeping now!) so maybe another night or two of this will help nip it in the bud.

I would stick to the cio at bedtime. That would have the best chance of getting her to sttn imo. Also, physically it's a much easier time since she would be so tired and could only fight sleep for so long. At 4am she's gotten a good chunk of sleep and we'll be able to cry much longer.
