Astigmatism?
My child went to the doc last nignt for 3 yr old well visit. They said he likely has astigmatism and referred me to an optimologist. Does this mean glasses? Ive never seen such a small child with glasses before.

Re: Astigmatism?
My DD is 4 and we recently had to get glasses for her. She has astigmatism in both eyes and is near-sighted. I know it's super young, and I was so surprised, but I think it's more common than we realize.
We had the same thing happen at her 3 year well visit. She couldn't read the eye chart. We went to an opthamologist and he examined her then, and said if at 6 months, her eyesight doesn't improve - then she would have to wear glasses...And that's what happened.

Re: Astigmatism?
There are about 4 kids in my sons pre k with glasses. My dd got glasses at 5 years old. Sometimes their eyes can improve with glasses and they may grow out of them. I adore lil kids in glasses and my dd loves her glasses. I thought she would hate having to wear them but nope lol.

Re: Astigmatism?
My 4 year old has an astigmatism, but hasn't needed glasses yet. I wouldn't be surprised if he needs them in the future.

Astigmatism?
My son has been wearing glasses since he was 1. He has astigmatism and other issues as well related to premature birth. His prescription changes often.
