DD Peed in the Potty, Now What???

So DD is 25 months old and has shown a lot of interest in the potty and bowel movements for the past few weeks. She is able to tell us that she is pooping and constantly wants to follow me into the bathroom, but still can't pull her pants on and off and I don't think she is actually "ready" to be potty trained.

I got her a potty and yesterday and today all she wants to do is sit on her potty and today after she took her bath she actually peed in it!

But now what? Do I just get her familiar with the potty and going in it and continue to talk to her about going pee pee and poopy on the potty, or do I take advantage of her eagerness and actually potty train??

I would take advantage and give it a shot! Try the three day method and if it doesn't work give her more time

If she went in the potty once, she can do it again! Try to train!

I'd try. That's what I did, but my DS was not ready so now we just let him use the potty when he asks to get him familiar with it.

I'd try, although due to her young age and her inability to pull her own pants on/off, you'll still probably be fully involved in every potty trip. So while it saves $$ on diapers, it isn't any easier IMO.

Take advantage of her interest. Get a potty watch. Worked wonders for us!

Go for it! 25 months isn't really that young to potty train, especially if she telling you she has to go.
I think view of when to potty train has gotten skewed really old because it's easier when they are older. But she sounds completely ready, Good luck! If you are consistent she will do it.

Thanks for all the responses and encouragement! I definitely think I'm going to take advantage of her eagerness and try to potty train. Her nursery school is really great at following through with potty training and there are 2 kids in her class that are training now, probably another reason she is obsessed with the potty!
I think I'm just so hesitant because I'm not ready to deal with the 3 day potty method and all that comes with potty training. Ahh my baby is getting to be such a big girl :(

I'm right they're with you with my 22 month old. She's been sitting in the potty now and then for months and I'm thinking I may go all in before she gets into a more controlling/defiant stage.
My older dd showed interest and control at a young age and I didn't push it hoping it would happen naturally and it didn't. She didn't end up training until she turned 3.

This morning dd2 say on the potty and for some crazy reason I threw her in undies. She was loving them! After maybe 20 minutes I thought I should sit her again but got distracted by my 4yo and she peed 30 seconds later. I couldn't believe how close I was to catching her. That really has me thinking I should give it a good shot! I'm thinking Monday I'll really start.
