11 months old and milk
my DS turned 11 months today and I want to slowly start transitioning to whole milk.
Should I start putting 1 oz milk and 6 oz formula this week, 2 oz milk and 5 oz formula following week, etc. That should be fine right? Just want to make sure 11 months isn't too early. I forgot when I started with my other 2 kids.

Re: 11 months old and milk
Yes that is exactly how I did it with DD. I upped the ounce every week over a few weeks. Started around 11 months. I wanted to do a week per ounce because she had stomach issues.
All worked out great

It isn't too early as long as your child is eating regular meals and a pretty balanced diet (fruit, veg, grains, protein, etc). At this point cows milk is just a drink and does not replace formula or breast milk.

Re: 11 months old and milk
I did it at 10 months and she did great! But she ate a lot of cheese and yogurt prior and I knew she could tolerate it.

11 months old and milk
We didn't do milk until a year but we added 1 ounce milk to her formula and upped it every 3 days. So for 3 days she would get 1 ounce milk and 3 ounces formula and then starting day four it would be 2 ounces milk and 2 ounces formula and so on. Within 2 weeks she was solely on milk. Now if only I could get her off a bottle at 25 months.....

Re: 11 months old and milk
My DD will be 1 in October. My pediatrician said to go cold turkey.. which is what we did with my son. She is currently on a sensitive formula.. had a lot of gas etc as a kid. But has been tolerating yogurt, cheese etc since 9 months

Re: 11 months old and milk
We just gave a bottle of whole milk. She loved it. Was like that with all 3 kids.

bumping this because I slowly introduced regular milk to DS and he threw up ugh. I guess it was upsetting his stomach. I will just stick to his formula for now and at 12 months try again right?

Then there's a chance he has a dairy intolerance. There's nothing magical about 12 months. If milk made him sick at 11 months, it likely will also at 12 months. Likely he will eventually outgrow it, but I'd raise it with your ped.
He hasn't had yogurt, cheese, ice cream, etc?

My DS did the same thing, he had a slight milk allergy so we had to put him on almond milk. Talk to your ped.

I would try some yogurt and cheese before just introducing milk as his first dairy product.

My DS will not drink actual milk but he does have cheese/yogurt no issues. Usually they say it is something they grow out of.
