"Bar Hopping" NYC near with 51st street -help

Have bach party tomorrow bride wants to go bar hopping. She wants to first go to johnny Utah and then go hopping from there.

I don't go out often and when I do I don't go bar hopping and on top of that I don't go to the city. Are there bars around that area. Are we going to have to pay cover charges every place we go too?

Oh and we are starting at LIPS... From the map app on my phone johnny Utah is .8 miles away are we going to be able to walk there or are we going to have to take the train.


PS I hate public transportation and I am not a fan of subways. I will obv. Take one If I have too. I actually am planning on driving in with a few of us and paying for parking at one location go where ever by walking or subway/cab etc then going back to our car to drive home. Am I totally nuts? I don't plan on drinking!

if you dont plan on drinking then drive if you live far out east. The last thing you will want to do is sprint for the lirr and sit on a train packed with drunk hoezz lol

I mean, it's a kind of a long walk by LI standards I guess. I wouldn't take the train that distance though. I can't really help with bars if she wants to go to Johnny Utah's.

I agree with driving, the LIRR is bad enough during rush hour and it's a million times worse at night. Though it might be a welcome treat after spending your night at Johnny Utah's

Not sure if it's in the same area but we went to Barcelona Bar which is between 54th and 55th if I recall. So. Much. Fun. They have a huge shot menu and some come with music and props.
