Fort Myers or West Palm-BOOKED
I realized that I have enough miles to pay for direct flights to either West Palm Beach or Fort Myers out of our local airport. It would be just DH and I for a long weekend. WPB has better flight times, but it looks like the beaches are nicer in FM. We would ideally like to skip a car rental. So a really nice resort right on the beach within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Any advice?
Update- We wound up deciding on Fort Myers for 4 nights, 5 days. We have never been to the gulf coast so we wanted to check it out. We went back and forth over where to stay and decided on the Pink Shell in Fort Myers. I'm a little nervous that it's so family friendly, since we're leaving the kids home, but I think everything else it offers will make up for that. The Ritz looked amazing, but was well over $500 a night, which was a bit high. We also rented a car so that we can check out some of the surrounding areas. Captiva Island is definitely on the list. And possibly Naples or Marco Island. I'm open to any and all suggestions for restaurants or cool beach bars to check out.

I would go to the Ritz Carlton in Naples. It is about a half hour from Ft. Myers.

I agree. It is amazing... But can be very $$$ and booked up on popular dates.

YOu will love it. We go there every year. They have a beautiful spa and is walking distance to town. We actually said last time the only time we used the car was to get to and from the airport that we will just uber it next year. You can even rent a boat right across the street. The beach is beautiful!!

I'm super excited for it. We thought about just using uber to and from the airport but I rented a car for $58 for 5 days. Lol It seemed silly not to and we can explore other nearby areas if we want to
