Allergist Rec please?
I suspect a gluten, possible dairy allergy in my son. Does anyone see someone they love?

How old is your son? And are his symptoms IgE or gastro-related?

You probably need a GI, not an allergist. I can tell you with almost certainty that Dr Strauss, mentioned above, will refer you to a GI, as he did with my daughter. I was there for literally 2 minutes. Might be worth making an appointment with both though. I would recommend Dr Gold with Good Sam Pediatric specialists. Both my girls see him for different issues, one being celiac, the other way more complicated. Takes a while to get an appointment though.
I would strongly recommend keeping a food/symptom journal as well to help piece things together more clearly. Good luck!

Thanks so much!
I kind of assumed allergies were detected through a blood test? What does a gastro do to determine a food allergy?

The GI had us take DS for bloodwork and we had to take stool samples which was gross but I guess they have to test for everything. DS levels were off the charts for testing positive for a gluten allergy, the GI said he needed to confirm Celiacs for sure with an endoscopy and take a biopsy but we thought that was too invasive for a 2.5 year old so we just trusted the blood results (we also have family history on DH side of celiac). I liked our GI though, Dr. Guevarra from Good Sam Pediatrics in Babylon.

They are. But the symptoms you mentioned are not typical allergy symptoms. Allergists deal with IgE mediated allergies, where you'd see hives, trouble breathing, rashes, anaphylaxis, etc. What you described is on par with a food intolerance/autoimmune reaction, which would be treated by a GI. The GI will likely run a blood panel for IgE allergies, as well.
Just sharing my experience, obviously go with your gut. My daughter has severe food intolerances, and even though she gets a rash, the allergist just sent as way because her symptoms were mainly digestive.
