The app is also awful. Why can't I just Putin my dates and see everything that's available. If something does become available I'm probably missing b/c of the 1000 steps I need to take for each day. lol. Ok venting over lol
I never use the app for dining...always the website because you can see all availability for a date.
And I will say, try the restaurant reservation finder through touringplans.com. I was able to get a dinner reservation for ohana for 7 people well after the 180 days.

and the app is the same as the site. I just meant why can't I pull up my whole stay in 1 screen shot and then plan according that way. Right now it's just day by day. and for each meal. I have to go back and change the times. Why Can't I see the whole day or my whole stay

so I am on here playing around seeing what's available and the princess tea party came up at the grand floridian.. They want $667 for 4 of to attend. WTF? who pays for that? that's insane to me. How can they expect people to pay that? We are paying enough as is it, just to stay on the monorail. This is insane lol

Sounds like quite an elaborate website you are hoping for! I doubt we'll ever see anything like that from Disney! And Disney has made some upgrades to their app...I might actually use it now that I see how much more user friendly it is compared to what it was!

Hahaha. I guess but I mean kinda like the airlines. You can see prices for days around your travel time. The app is user friendly. I used it last too with out a problem. It's very easy to book and move stuff around. But I just wish I could see multiple times, days and restaurants. Lol.

The tea party is fun - for girls. I took DD once. There was ONE dad there with his daughter, and one teenager alone - otherwise all moms with girls. The little girls get a special doll, bracelet and rose. There is music and fun before Aurora's grand entrance, while everyone eats finger sandwiches and drinks tea (juice for kids in a tea cup). She comes to every single table and sits and chats for a bit. She signs autographs and poses for pictures. She leads a parade around the restaurant. The little girls then parade around the Grand Floridian. A photo pass photographer takes special pictures of each girl in attendance. They all get a certificate. DH went to Hollywood Studios and rode Tower of Terror 5 times while DD & I went to the tea party

It is a little insane. I don't mind some planning. What I mind is that there are no open reservations for the places in the hotels I'm staying at. There should be saved spots for guests. I want chef mickeys. We are stayin at contemporary. I can't get one yet. It should stay open for guests for a week or 2 before check in.

Did you put in a search with the dining finder? I was able to get Ohana for 7 people about 45 days out through the finder...today I was able to make it for 10 just by trying to modify the reservation. I'm hoping to be able to make it for 14 before we go in a month so that our whole party can eat together.

Yes I go in and out trying different times, days, meals, etc and also just with the restaurant name. I'm sure something will Come eventually but it's just annoying that I have to constantly be on my phone or computer and trying at random times.

I don't do this, and we have plenty of fun each time we go. I don't know how anyone can decide where they want to eat 6 months in advance and then have to stop what they are doing to get to that reservation on time in a busy theme park.

We do Disney very last minute. Some days, we don't decide which park we're doing until that morning. We'ver always had a great time. But, if you're going at one of the busiest times of the year, I think you would need to plan in advance to maximize your time (not spend as much time waiting in lines).

Im not sure if you are talking about this one https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/reservation-finder or the Disney website, but I had success with the touring plans one.

Disney dining
That's it. I want my kids to see characters without wasting time standing in lines. I really want chef mickeys this time. I don't care where we eat. It's not like the food is extremely good. It's normal kid friendly food. I'm not planning expensive meals. I will work around some reservations as we have to eat anyway lol. But I am kinda annoyed at how it books up so far in advance. We booked for November. Still months away. Others plan a year in advance. It doesn't really matter. We will be down a lot. But I still want certain places. Planning is fun until I run into everything booked lol

Re: Disney dining
You can have a terrific meet with the core characters at the Epcot character meet. You can also fast pass this. Dining almost always opens up a day or two before. People make multiple reservations and cancel. We have canceled many reservations because we change our mind; pool vs park, or eating. It is doable.

Try Tusker House at Animal Kingdom. I feel like it is really easy to get a breakfast or lunch reservation there and I think the characters are the same.
We also FP the character at AK last time we were there and got really great pictures with Mickey and Minnie.
Epcot also has the main characters at the meet and greet. Also another easy place to get a FP or if you go towards the evening, there usually isn't a wait.
Good luck. We always book our Disney trips about 2 months in advance and have always gotten reservations. As others have mentioned, you just keep checking and lots of people cancel. Like I will take any reservation available, even if it is a 3rd or 4th choice. Then if something I want comes up, I cancel the reservations I had.

I found that Chef Mickey's was easier to get than Tusker House (probably because it is bigger).
I'm sure things will open up closer to your date when people finalize their plans. I'm sure there is someone (or probably a bunch of people) who has a reservation for Chef Mickeys every day for a week until they decide what they want to do.

I also agree that you should try tusker house, probably our favorite meal of the trip, the food was very good ( chef mickeys doesn't have the best reviews food wise- check disboards) and they had all the main characters except for Minnie. Micky and Minnie do meet together though at their character spot in animal kingdom, we didn't even have a fast pass and the line wasn't long at all. I think this is the only place in DW that they meet together.

In Epcot there was a meet and greet I happened uopn late at night and it was Mickey, Minnie and goofy. We didn't do Chef Mickey last time and we are staying there, so I kinda wanted it. it will be fine no matter what

If you are a Disney Visa cardholder - they have a nice meet and greet at Epcot as well.
I booked late my first time we went and there was nothing at Chef Mickeys as well. The week before we went I could get good times for any meal so I wouldn't rule it out yet.
