BTDT with 2 or more
Trying to decide whether or not we will need a double stroller.
DD1 will be 3 when DD2 is born. DD1 doesn't really use a stroller anymore, but we bring it with us on trips to the zoo, the mall, or when we go to amusement parks so she can rest if she wants. Do you think it's worth it?

Dd1 was exactly 2 when dd2 was born. (4 days diff). She didn't use a stroller anymore then either. I have two doubles though. I def don't need two. I do use or side by side for walks, zoo, amusement parks. It's nice to have but not necessary.
You could always get a hand me down or used one.

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
Wait & see. We really didn't have our 2 year old wanting to be in a stroller when DD was 6 months. When our older was 3 & little one was 1.5, we did away with strollers all together (even at Disney). We took breaks & were ok holding kids once in a while.

I don't have 2, but if I was to have another I would not get a double stroller. My DS just turned 2 and barely uses it. For the few times, he might use it, I would probably just get a cheap umbrella stroller for him. Double strollers are $$$$

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
We didn't buy one.. DS was almost 3 when DD was born, we borrowed my sister's double when we went to Dutch Wonderland and my DS refused to sit in it. So i'm glad we didn't get one because it would have been a waste for us.

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
i agree about waiting. I have a double (my kids are only 15 months apart) and at ages 2 & 3 they both will still happily go for walks in the stroller. Your older daughter may want to just help you push the stroller when you walk with the baby...or she may want to sit with her. See what happens when baby arrives

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
I got one and I rarely use it but I like having it DD at 5 will still sit in it when she is tired.
I wouldn't spend $600 on one though. I bought a britax one off of amazon for $300.
I would look for a used one of a buy/sell group so you aren't spending tons of money on one

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
I have a 3 and 1 year old. DS walks and never rides in a stroller. BUT, we do take it for long trips, like the zoo or vacations. And I do use it to take both kids for walks around the neighborhood. So will you use it often? Probably not. But will you appreciate having the option? I think so. It's worth it IMO. Better than carrying a tired 30-pound 3-year old around!

My kids are 2.5 years apart. We got a double for exactly the occasions you listed. I think it was worth it for us. In those cases we use it, it's so nice to have. I was on the lookout for a used city mini but ended up finding am amazing deal on a bagile double and really love it. We upgraded to a minivan before our second so I have room to just keep it in there all the time.

My kids are 3 years apart and I just got the stand thing to attach to my stroller. Is that an option with the stroller you have? When we do big trips like the zoo I usually have DH with me so we each have a stroller. But when I'm alone DS is fine with the kickstand thing.

Re: BTDT with 2 or more
DS was just over 3 when DD was born and we didn't get a double stroller. He's fine walking most places, but when we need to, he goes in the stroller and I wear the baby in a carrier.
We already have 2 single strollers (regular and umbrella) and didn't want to buy another.

BTDT with 2 or more
We're due with #2 in December and our DS will be 3.5 by then. Our son still loves the stroller so I wanted a double. We were lucky enough to get a sit and stand handed down to us at no cost. I wanted the select so we had the option of 2 or 1 and wouldn't need so many strollers. I decided against it because of the cost and will keep my Versa and get the board that our DS can ride on. THEN I joined a FB group and found someone selling a used Bumbleride Indie Twin for really cheap. I snagged that too. I want a double umbrella but really, I can put other things in the seat if I need to, besides our DS. But like I said, he still loves the stroller at almost 3 so I don't see that changing anytime soon. And when it does, I still have the Versa.

Just had my 3 Rd. Each are 3 yrs apart. We got a double for my first 2. I was in Boston and Wales a lot and felt more comfortable having. Dd1 sitting. Worked well. 3 yes later dd2 now 3 won't sit in it with DS lol. It really depends. I would wait to see how they are
