Transporting breast milk to daycare?
I'll be going back to work at the end of this month and my DD will be starting daycare- she'll be 9 weeks at the time. I've been pumping and trying to build up a supply to send to daycare with her and I'm just unsure how to transport it. So far she's never been away from me for more than an hour or two so I exclusively nurse her. It's all frozen breast milk- do I just keep it in one of those cooler lunchbox things? Use ice packs? Any advice is appreciated!

What I did was take out the frozen milk and put it in the fridge the night before and in the morning set up all the bottles for the day. You can put the bottles in a cooler bag with one of those ice pack things.
ETA: I also gave an extra frozen pouch just in case there was a spill or something they could thaw and use it.

Gotcha! I wasn't sure if I should put them in bottles or keep it in the pouches. Thank you!

Ask your daycare how they want you to do it. DD's daycare wanted all bottles prepped, meaning I provided 4 bottles with 4 oz pumped milk everyday. I also kept some frozen stash there in case they needed more. DD's day care also provides a lunch box so I would stick the bottles in there with an icepack.

Transporting breast milk to daycare?
Days I would bring frozen milk, I would defrost the milk that morning in a cup of warm water. It took like 5 minutes and the just pour it into a bottle. i usually stuck an ice pack in the cooler. Sometimes I didn't, but the drive is literally 2 minutes so it's not like it had time to spoil.

I always prepped bottles, and gave an extra bottle every day just in case - which was rarely used. MAKE SURE you talk to them about paced feeding, and about not overfeeding with BM. At 9 weeks your baby really really really doesn't need as much as many daycare workers will think. Kellymom has great guidelines, and there's a working and pumping site I found VERY helpful - workandpump.com

Thank you! I definitely need to nail down a better schedule- Dd goes from wanting to nurse every hour to sleeping for 5 hours straight. I try to keep her on a schedule but I get so much conflicting advice- breastfeed on demand, no set a schedule. Breastfeed on demand and pump on a schedule- but make sure you sleep when the baby sleeps! It gets so confusing!
