Bad diaper rash shortly after antibiotics?
Does this happen to anyone's child? DD has been on antibiotics 2x and each time, the day or two after we finish her last dose of the medicine, she's develops a nasty diaper rash. At first I thought it was the type of antibiotic (first time she was on amoxiciilin and second time, cefdinir) but I now know that's not true - she got a rash each time. She's takes a probiotic everyday already. Anyone else?

Bad diaper rash shortly after antibiotics?
This happens to my DD as well. I also give her a daily probiotic. We are finishing up antibiotics tomorrow and she is already getting a diaper rash and has a lot of irritation by her thigh, which I'm not sure is related. I usually put max strength desitin for a few days until it goes away, unless it lingers and then I usually take her to the ped to make sure it's not a yeast infection which is common when taking antibiotics.

Yes this has happened to dd2 also despite probiotics. In fact, I never connected until just now that she had diaper rash in the hospital as a newborn but she was on antibiotics then too so maybe that was why. I've taken her to the ped for rx cream if it doesn't clear in a few days out gets bad.

It's probably a yeast rash from the meds. Dd got it a lot. Pediatrician needs to give you an ointment.

I was just thinking this. yeast infections are very common after antibiotics.
