I'm thinking of warmer weather and beaches, cause I hate seeing gray, rainy skies. I usually go to Robert Moses with my son...whats your favorite beach and why?

Little west Islip town beach Chat Icon

I go there every day for an hour or 2 to just relax
I find it hard to relax at bigger beaches w people all over the place

Chair and bag stay in my trunk at all times thru the summer and whenever I need to recharge - I go

Can't wait !

I'm in the city. But when Im on LI.
I always go to Robert Moses for a long beach day.

If I just want to pull out a chair and enjoy the sun for an hour or two, I will go to Bayshore Marina.

Re: beaches

I used to do Cupsogue (which is beautiful) but last summer I went to Robert Moses more often.

We live on the north shore and there is a small beach about 5 mins away and we do dinner picnics after work there often, but it's no substitute for south shore sand.

When I'm on LI, I like TOBAY or field 6 on Jones. It's closest to my family's house.

I love Cupsogue. We don't go often because it's kind of far and $15 to park is a bit steep, especially since we have an Empire Pass, but it's beautiful and clean.

Re: beaches

We love Sailor's Haven on Fire Island. Best beach ever.

Also enjoy Smith Point, since the sand is super soft, no pebbles in it, and the walk from the beach to the bathroom/concession isn't 10 miles.

Robert Moses is nice over in the last field by the lighthouse. Not a fan of the other ones that we have been to there...sand has too many pebbles in it (picky about the sand lol)

Re: beaches

Love the beach too! It is my dream to retire somewhere warm overlooking the ocean and go to the beach everyday, even though this will never happen. Chat Icon

I hate the cold. I am always cold even when it is like 80 out, I say I wish it was warmer. DH always tells me I was born in the wrong place, should've been born somewhere down south where it's always warm.Chat Icon

I am from Queens and we grew up going to Rockaway Beach. In high school, once my friends and I started driving we discovered Jones Beach and that changed my life.Chat Icon

When I was dating DH, he always went to Robert Moses. That changed my life again.

So now we pretty much only go to Robert Moses but those are the only 3 beaches I am familiar with. Would love to try a new one, but am so unfamiliar with all the ones on LI and a lot of them you have to be a member of the town, etc. All so confusing. I need simple. Chat Icon

Re: beaches

We are big beach people...we have an outer beach pass and drive onto the beach...we do Cupsogue on Saturdays and Smith Point on Sundays (so we don't have to sit in Hamptons traffic)...we are on the beach by 8am usually.

For those that go to Robert Moses...what field do you hit the most? I seem to always go to field 4, been going there for years...never had the desire to try the others much. Field 5 on occasion, but 4 is our go to.
