Anyone ever get titer tests for their DC?
DD is due for her 2nd MMR and other series shots soon. Wondering how I would go about getting titers tested. Is it through my ped? Does insurance cover it? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Yes, very easy. Got a script from the ped at the regular physical and just took them for the bloodwork. Mine was covered by insurance except for a co-pay but this was many years ago things may have changed. Also, did it as part of routine bloodwork for physical so that may have changed the coverage situation. Also, just fyi, these results can be used in lieu of second vaccinations for things like MMR and chicken pox for school requirements.

Can I ask why you'd bother? We had to do it with DS, our old ped closed and lost his file. My current ped gave us a script and we had it done at Quest or LabCorp, don't remember which.
It wasn't a particularly fun experience

I think people do it in order to not give their children additional vaccinations that they don't necessarily need.
