Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
My DD has been "potty trained" for over a year now (she'll be 4 in June). She's still having random accidents and wears a pull up at night. How do I get her to stop with the accidents?! I've tried stop drinking hour before bed etc and nothing seems to work. I'm attributing the day time accidents to pure laziness (it depends on what mood she's in whether she has a bad day or not) and she sleeps too well at night and knows her pull up will save her. I did have DS one year ago and know that she did regress a little after he was born but he's a year old now! Has anyone tried a Bedwetting alarm for night time? Bedwetting Alarm

Re: Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
My DD was like this. She was potty trained at 2.5 but was like you described still even at 4. I remember mentioning it to the ped who said she was still young not to worry that some kids just are like this . Sure enough, she is now 6 and is always dry day and night. I can't remember even now exactly when it happened but she wore a pull up even beginning at 5 when she went to bed because she would sometimes have little accidents during the night. Sometime around turning 5 it stopped completely and now she never has accidents even at night. point being, give it time you might not need that alarm!

Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
My daughter is 5 and fully day and night trained. My DS is 5 and I am having the same problem with him. He doesn't drink before bed and goes to the bathroom right before bed. He's in night time pull ups and I'm not sure what else to do. My nephew is going to be 8 in August and still has night time accidents frequently. My youngest son is almost 4 and still wears a pull up to bed although I can probably stop with him since he's almost always dry when he wakes up. Our ped says he will grow out of it. My SIL's ped said this can go on for quite a while but eventually he will grow out of it.

Re: Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
My twins are 4 1/2 and potty trained for about a year now. One has never had an accident and never wakes up wet. My other has an accident once in a awhile during the day. More so, when he's playing and super distracted and I have to remind him to go and he waits too long. He wears a pull-up to bed. He wakes up wet (in his pull-up). He says mommy, I'm sorry. I told him it's not his fault. He doesn't even realize it (he's sleeping).
Ped said kids are like this. Some like my one son, if he does have to go, will wake up to go and some don't even wake up. She said he will grow it out of it and it's not even considered an 'issue' until after 8 years old. You may just have to give it time.

Re: Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
I have an alarm I use it once and DD freaked out and now begs me to not put it on whenever I threaten to because she wet the bed again I probably wont put it on her again but we will see.
what I do right now is wake her up before I go to bed (which is usually late) and make her pee and I would say 8-9 out of 10 times it works but I am kind of over doing this.
I know someone who used it for like a week they said and it worked potty training her son at night

Pee Accidents/Bedwetting alarm
You just have to give it time... Some kids just aren't woken up by the need to use the restroom. It's all developmental and not something they can control.

My son is 5.5. He's been day trained since he was 2y8m. He still wears pull ups at night and 99.9% of the time he is wet when he wakes up. He's a heavy sleeper. Doesn't wake up for anything. His ped said give it time. It's okay. Some kids just take longer for the signal from the bladder to the brain to develop at night.

Thank you all! Glad to know she's not alone and looks like I will just have to give her time! Thanks for sharing

Exactly this. Give her time. My son has been night trained now for about 6 months and he was day trained for 2 years before we were brave enough to try at night without the pull up - and I did it at his request bc he wanted to be a big boy. He has 2 minor accidents and has been fine ever since. It will happen.
