I always see Lancaster posts & activities for kids. Is Lancaster fun for adults-only? Or is it more geared towards kids? Thinking of going..

I don't have kids and have gone a couple of times and really enjoyed it! I don't think of it as a kids place at all.

Re: Spin-off: Lancaster
I have been a couple of times on adults only trips and I love Lancaster for adults.
A couple of years ago just DH and I went because he wanted to go to a minor league ball game in Reading, about 25 minutes away. It was a great trip.
There are lots of restaurants with food that many kids - at least my kids - won't appreciate.
There are lots of cute BnBs.
Fulton Steamboat Inn has their adults only third "deck."
I also love shopping at the Rockvale outlets. There are some shops there you can't find here. I always hit the QVC outlet when I'm there.

I don't know, for ME, I woudln't go without kids. I feel like if you have the luxury of travelling without kids you should go someplace that wouldn't be good with kids, kwim? Like New Orleans or Vegas etc I feel like I'd be bored out of my mind there without the kid stuff That's just me though

Re: Spin-off: Lancaster
No way would I go to Lancaster if I didn't have kids. So many better places to go.
When i was in elementary school, I lived in the Philadelphia suburbs and we went on a field trip to Amish Lancaster. Did not go back until I had a child and went to Dutch Wonderland.

Re: Spin-off: Lancaster
Thanks y'all. I'm more undecided then ever. For what it's worth, I obvs can go to a more "tropical" destination. Was just considering Lancaster as a weekend trip.

Have you been to Boston? I found that was fun as a weekend trip with my DH.

I totally agree. I do know adults who are really into it but I wouldn't be without kids. Too boring for my taste. Last time we went we forgot that basically everything shuts down on Sundays and we were bored to tears trying to find something to do.
