Sleeping in Rock n Play?
My first two slept in the Rock n Play until around 3 months, maybe more. They loved it, slept as well as possible for them in it but they did get flat heads. My ped was never overly concerned with their heads and they rounded out once they started sleeping in the crib and rolling onto their bellies.
I've since read things saying the Rock n Play isn't safe for sleeping. These aren't new findings, it's just things that I hadn't read in the past. Now I'm second guessing using it for this one . . . Although I'm not sure what I would use in it's place. I've read things from SIDS risk to causing flat heads. Just looking to hear some others thoughts on this, as I know it's a very popular item.

DD slept in the RnP. I never worried about it. It was the only way she'd sleep 3-4 hour stretches.

Re: Sleeping in Rock n Play?
I had read about the possible negative effects while using it with my first. I continued to use it, used it with my second, and if I were to have another, would use it again. Call me selfish, reckless, but I needed to sleep in order to function, which meant I needed them to sleep! It was short term, and they were right next to me in my room, so I honestly felt okay with it. They got plenty of tummy time and other opportunities to be off their backs during the day.

Sleeping in Rock n Play?
I let DS nap in it every single day until he was 9 months old. He slept more or less in his crib from day 1 overnight.

Re: Sleeping in Rock n Play?
I don't love it as the solo method for sleep because I feel that my girls' chins were in their chest, which I've read can obstruct lung functioning. With both my girls, I used the rnp that first week or two home from the hospital intermittently with the bassinet just so we could string together 3 consecutive hours of sleep. After that, my girls were in the bassinet, and the rnp were really just used for quick naps and a place to put them down in the living room if I had to go pee or something.
Eta: I also noticed that in the bassinet, my girls from a young age were able to move their head from side to side. In the rnp, their heads would remain cocked to whatever side they were in the begin with, in the same position the whole time. That makes me worried not just for flat head but torticollis as well.

My 1st slept in it and got torticollis from it, so I wouldn't recommend it

They should be pulled out of stores. Too many issues with them and a false sence of security
