5 month old only wants bottle still, won't eat
Refuses to eat rice cereal, oatmeal, and the few jarred purees we started. Just started banana and we may have some luck with that, we'll see how that goes, but that's it. What do we do?

My dd didn't have an interest then either but once she turned 6 months she liked purées. Both my kids never really liked the cereal.

Until a year all the nutrients come from the formula. We do not even start introducing solids until 6 months. It's only for practice anyway

Don't force it! You don't want to start a bad relationship with food. I don't introduce solids until after six months and both of my children are fantastic eaters.
Just follow your babies cues and you'll know when they're ready!

Sounds like he is not ready. My pediatrician does not recommend introducing solids until 6 months old.

Neither of my kids were really eating solids yet at 5 months old... younger ds not till after 6 months. I agree to give it another few weeks or month & try again.

Agree! I introduced them at 5.5 months since DS was nursing 24/7. At that point, he was able to devour an entire jar.

My dd hated purées. She really only had formula til about 8 mos old when we just started to give her real food cut up teeny tiny or smushed down.

That's ok! Wait another month. Before 1, it's not a real source of nutrition anyway. Your little one just isn't ready.

My ped said not to start before 6mos. At 6mos de wasn't interested. She didn't start eating food until almost 7mos and it was just a bite here or there. I wouldn't try to take the bottle away. Formula or breast milk is necessary

I didn't introduce solids until 6 months. Formula or breastmilk are all they need up until then.

We are having the opposite problem and that worries me more!
DD is drinking less formula and wanting more solids..
I'm nervous she isnt getting what she needs because the real nutrients are in the formula!!

Your dc is only 5 months, they will be eating the rest of their life. Its not like they are 2 years old and wont eat.
Give it time dont worry =)
