Lancaster Area Favorites
Besides Dutch Wonderland and Hershey, what are your favorite family-friendly attractions and restaurants? My kids are 2 and 6.
TIA

Cherry Crest Farms is a lot of fun. Food wise, we enjoyed Hershey Farm the best out of the buffet places.

Hands on House is an adorable kid friendly museum full of pretend play exhibits. We did an Amish buggy ride at Jessica and Abes, we enjoyed that

We liked this too. For a buffet, Shady Maple had the largest selection of food I've ever seen.
We walked around Kitchen Kettle Village for a little while one afternoon. The kids also had fun spending time in the pool at the hotel (Eden).
We also stopped in Philly at the Please Touch Museum on our way to Lancaster. My kids loved it.

We ate at Lancaster Brewing Company and Iron Hill Brewery, I liked Iron Hill's food better. For attractions besides DW we did: Strasburg RR, and Turkey Hill Factory- that was cool because you could sign up to make your own ice cream flavor in their lab. We also stopped on our way back home to the Please Touch Museum in Philly

Is the Turkey Hill factory near Dutch Wonderland?

Plain and fancy, we do the Amish feast which is family style and you sit with other people but you can also order a la carte and just sit with your own family, the fried chicken is soooooo good

Re: Lancaster Area Favorites
We go every year. I absolutely LOVE Lancaster. Actually, it is on my list for where I want to live when I retire....
But besides that.
We usually stay at the Eden, but this year we are staying at the Amishview Inn to get a real feel of Amish life. Very different experience than the modern Eden Resorts. I will post a review when we return!
Some of my favorite spots with kids : Strasberg Railroad Dutch Wonderland Hershey Park Amish Buggy Rides Kitchen Kettle Village Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory Crayola Factory - (Not in Lancaster, but on the way)
To eat: Good & Plenty Millers Smorgasbord

I haven't been to Lancaster in 5+ years now, but I stayed at the Amishview a few times. It was beautiful! They served the best baked oatmeal in the morning!

Do you think an active 2 year old would have the patience to sit through the Turkey Hill Ice Cream Lab? I feel like he would just want to eat everything and not sit still during presentation.

There's an age limit for the Lab. I don't think you can take a 2-year-old. You can still tour the factory and there's hands on stuff for little ones (in addition to the unlimited ice cream and iced tea samples).
