WWYD - To travel without the kids or with the kids?

My boyfriend won his bowling league and we have 3k to put towards a trip.

We are torn as to whether we should take a trip with our kids, or without.

Disney is out, because his son wouldn't be able to handle it and it would be too rough on everyone.

We could still take them on a smaller trip if we didn't do a big trip with them.

Have you guys gotten to travel alone at all yet? And when was your last vaca with the kids? That would probably influence my decision. You can also do something nicer with 3k for 2 vs 4 people.

FWIW, I just came back from a kidless trip to Vegas with the bf and it was AWESOME so I'm a big fan of those Chat Icon

Only small weekend trips alone. Not a 'big' one.

Kids was the end of last summer, but they are also both traveling with their 'other' parents over the summer too.

Alone sounds so nice, lol. I sort of see a cruise as a compromise in a way if we did that because we could send them to the kids club, but BF is nervous about his son

This! If I could find anyone to watch my kids ever, I would go away even for just a night!

I vote kid free!!!!

That's a nice budget but divided by more than 2 it will really have to be a driving trip maybe 3 day weekend vs real get-away

Another vote for without the kids. Do a separate road trip with the kids.
