Which places are you an "expert" in?

And when I say expert I mean been to many times, can recommend hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc.

I think this thread will be helpful for those planning a trip to a particular place so they know who they can reach out to.

Just an idea.

Did you ever have to go check out the properties? You know, for purely scientific purposes to make sure all was in order for your clients?

Hawaii - DH and I go every year for a couple of weeks. We mainly go to Maui, but I have been to the other islands (Hawaii, Kauai, Oahu and Lanai) several times. Next year we're going to Molokai for the first time.

Disney - we own DVC so we're there a lot. We usually go for a full week at least once a year and then several short long weekends (like for food and wine, to see the Christmas decorations, etc.)

Just Lake George. Our family owns a house in the village and DH and I both have been going up there since we were very young. We stay up there probably between 10 - 20 times every year. We love it so much we got married there as well.

My list of places that I would like to be an expert on is much much longer Chat Icon

Not necessarily a specific place, but I think I've reached expert level in cruising, specifically with Carnival. I've been on 6 & am researching my 7th currently.

My expertise isn't so much a place, my expertise is in navigating timeshare websites. I am a member with both RCI and Interval and manage to take advantage of all kind of perks.

Re: Which places are you an "expert" in?

I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I've been to or lived in these places:

Sydney, Australia (lived in for 5 years)
Germany (lived in for 6 years and counting!)

But because I've lived in these places I do not have a lot of hotel recommendations. I could give food and day trip info, though.

I've visited London many times and also a lot of different places in Italy.

I've travelled to a lot of other places, so I try to suggest things when I can, but I don't always remember where I stayed. I do remember food, though Chat Icon.

Re: Which places are you an "expert" in?

I'm a NCL (Norwegian Cruise Line) cruise expert. I've been on four of them, various ships, and have my 5th NCL cruise booked for Feb 2017. (about 8 cruises overall) Sometimes I surprise myself that I actually know more than some of their reps. It kills me!Chat Icon

Re: Which places are you an "expert" in?

I know Philadelphia, Boston and DC well because those are places I have lived/live.

I don't know if I am an expert but I have been to Disney 6x and Disney Cruise 2x.

This is me as well.

I've been on eight too and although, for me, it's been a while since I cruised regularly and I can't call myself an expert now, at the time I felt I was very well versed in cruising the mainstream lines and there were so many times the sales rep would give out incorrect information that would lead a less experienced cruiser the wrong way.

Disney- maybe not an expert, but I've been there every year for the past 8 years and also countless trips as a child.

National parks out west- specifically Grand Canyon, but also Zion, Bryce etc.

Woodloch Pines- been there every year since 1989.
