last disney q!!!- 40" rides/age
So my son could probably just make the 40" mark. But still not sure i should let him ride those rollercoasters and rides. Did you let your 4 year old ride Thunder mountain, dinosaurs, tower of terror, splash mt, etc? Just because he meets the height doesn't really mean it's age appropriate? I don't plan to try to get advanced fastpasses for these b/c I'm not sure but wondering at what age you first let your kids on these types of rides? What were their reactions? Thank you!

My son who is about to turn 5 did Star Tours (he was ok on that) and Splash Mountain. And tea cups. That was it. That was all he would do, he refused all others. He was horrified on Splash Mountain. :(
Depends on the kid. Mine is fearful.
7-8-9.. Those are good ages for all the bigger rides I think.

thunder mountain is a fav
if you are planning on being at AK you might as well FP dinosaur there aren't too many headliners there unless you want to watch the shows.

My DD is 41" and she rode Splash Mountain for the first time last month. It was her favorite! I was nervous to let her go on, but she really loved it. She doesn't like roller coasters though.

Re: last disney q!!!- 40" rides/age
My DD just turned 6 when we went to Disney and she went on everything except Rockin Rollercoaster because she was too short. Her absolute favorite was the Expedition Everest coaster in Animal Kingdom. We couldn't get her off of it. She is a total thrill seeker. She also loved Tower of Terror and all the biggies in Magic Kingdom. She has no fear though. I would let your LO decide what they are comfortable with, if they want to try a big ride out then let them give it a whirl.

Re: last disney q!!!- 40" rides/age
Last summer my 4 year old (then 3.5 year old) went on dinosaur, Chevy test track, also Snow White mine train had a 38 inch limit, and star tours. I have to say I questioned myself as a mother for letting my kids go on Chevy test track lol, but in my defense you don't see much of the ride at all from outside so you have NO clue what it's like till it's too late ...both my kids love going on rides although my 4 year will say she is scared but doesn't cry and will go on them anyway...my older one(was 5) goes on them and has a smile plastered on her face the whole time.

we went the end of August- DS was 4, almost 5... and just over 40 inches at the time (he kept getting measured HAHA) . he rode them all several times- Thunder mountain, splash mountain, tower of terror, dinosaur, test track, Soarin, Star Tours.... loved them all!! BUT he basically has NO fear and doesn't scare easily. he's a dare devil. none of it phased him- and he just wanted to get off and get back in line LOL we're going back this summer and looking forward to the next "level"-- Space Mountain, Expedition Everest BUT It definitely depends on the kid.... There are TONS of youtube videos of each ride-- maybe watch them on your own, or with him and see what you think and if he would be interested in them or it it would be too much.

It's dark but it's such a stupid ride. My DD was actually bored and didn't like it.

This is the best thing you can do if you're not sure.
It really does depend on the kid.
My son, for example, hates dark rides even if they're tame. But he loves roller coasters and has no problem with drops, inversions, etc.
