Auto train to Florida?
If you took it, how was it? Did you have young children with you?

My girlfriend has done it twice. She did it the first time with her now ex-DH and 3 young daughters. She was ok with it, he said you couldn't pay him enough to do it again. Lol The last time she did it with her 3 daughters alone. She said it wasn't bad at all.

Auto train to Florida?
Before we had kids we did it with our niece and nephew who were around 5 and 3 at the time and we swore we'd never do it again. The kids weren't so bad but being on that train for us was terrible. My SIL did it with her two kids and her DH last year and they got rooms and said it wasn't that bad.

I have heard mixed reviews. It is actually pretty expensive. I only know people who use it who refuse to fly for any reason.

I looked into it and getting a room for a family of four actually cost more than flying during peak time and renting a car. No thanks.

We live in VA very close to the auto train station. We looked into it and it was very expensive. We fly to Orlando for cheap and it is only 2 hours.
We know many people who have looked into as well and no one ever actually takes the auto train to FL. They end up flying or driving.

Auto train to Florida?
I've taken it. Got a bedroom instead of just seats. It's cramped but it wasn't terrible. You are sleeping most of it since it's overnight.
I would do it again.
ETA: No children

Auto train to Florida?
Thanks for the replies. I booked flights because we wanted the extra days it would give us in Disney. The price when I checked wasn't bad. A private toom was slightly more than our flights plus rental car. Maybe we will try it sometime.
