BF mommas of toddlers- sudden night waking?

My daughter, who is 21 mos., started STTN at 2-3 weeks old. She has been a great sleeper ever since. For the past month or two, she has started waking at night and asking to nurse. It's now to the point that she wakes one to two times every night. When I go in to her, for the most part, she'll nurse for 15 mins or so, quick snuggle and song, and she'll go right back down. The sleep disruption is really starting to take a toll on me though. Chat Icon I don't remember this happening with either of my boys, aside from the occasional episode of teething or illness, which would rarely last more than a week or two. Weve tried having my husband go in to her when she wakes up, but she'll just cry and cry for me until I come in. Anyone else go through this with a toddler? Any advice?

Similar situation here, but my 21 month old DS has always been an erratic sleeper. He usually wakes up at least once a night and wants milk. Sometimes he wakes up in the early morning like 5 and other times he's up at 11, 2:30, and 5. I think at this point, I'm just used to having interrupted sleep. I usually let him fuss for 5 minutes before going in and 75% of the time he'll go back to sleep. Like your DD, my DS also wants nothing to do with dad I the middle of the night. I'm hoping to wean when he's about two and I really hope that improves his sleep...

My DS same age just started waking in the night and he usually sleeps great. On Sunday he was up for 3.5 hours though and last night for 1.5 hours. I think it might be a growth spurt though because he'll get a yogurt (s) from the fridge plus nurse before going back to sleep.

Is she just thirsty, maybe water would work? My DD is also 21 months and asks for water in the middle of the night. Takes a few sips and goes back to bed. Annoying but better then nursing Im sure!!

It might just be from the dry air this time of year. Even with the humidifier on high, DS wakes up and needs a couple sips of something. I usually give him what I've pumped but occasionally I've done water.

Unfortunately now, whatever initially caused it, it's a habit.
I'd probably go in but refuse the breast. Then hopefully once she realizes she's not getting it she'll stop waking.
